A big thank you to the officers and committee of the WECS for the opportunity to judge at their show. Really enjoyed my day and had the privilege of judging some lovely Rough Collies. Some of the classes were full of quality and on another day, the placings could be different. Was very pleased with my line up which reflected the type of collie I love and admire. The challenge was interesting for the top awards, but felt that the puppy had the edge on the day.
Veteran – 3 entries
1st Shipp – Rahlissa Snow Maiden for Tremaro
Very nice sable, well balanced with no exaggerations. Correct angulation, lovely overall shape, and fitted the hand as you go over her. Moved well. Good head qualities, lovely almond dark eye, neat ears on top, but was a little unsettled probably due to the hot weather.
2nd Margetts – Amalie Let Me Be at Collingvale JW
This is how to grow old gracefully! Lovely clean well-proportioned head and almond shaped eye, which gave her a graceful expression. Nice round muzzle. Good make and shape, well balanced and full of dignity.

Lovely 8 month blue merle puppy. Stunning presentation, well balanced, well angulated, correct neck and shoulders, well moulded foreface, delicious express, ears on top. You have to go over her to really appreciate her conformation. Covered the ground well on the move. Will have an interesting future

A well-constructed and balanced bitch, who was a little unsettled on the move. Just needs more time. One to watch for the future.

Lovely well-made bitch. First impression is that of quality. Good strong static balance, good outline no exaggeration. Clean head qualities, good moulding, correct placed stop, dark almond eye, ears on top. Strong front, neat feet, correct length of neck, lay of shoulder, length of back correct raise over the loin, good strong rear angulation. One of the best movers on the day.
2nd McDade – Fridens Captivation with Lyndale (Imp Rus)
Good head proportions with flat skull, clean well blunted muzzle. Good moulding. Well balanced outline, with good lay of shoulder, nice turn of stifle, well let down into strong hocks. Move well, needs to tighten up. It will be interesting to see how this young bitch matures.

Lovely make and shape of Collie. Excellent static balance achieved by good conformation, lay of shoulder, strong back, correct turn of stifle into strong hocks. Good tail carriage. Well-muscled and moved well. Good head proportions, clean well blunted muzzle. Was splitting hairs with this class.

Very clean head, flat skull with a nice dark almond eye. Good neck into well set shoulders. Well-balanced, tight feet and moved well. Lots to like about her.

Lovely bitch of a type that I admire. Good overall shape, well balanced, look of strength. Nice head qualities, good expression, nice eye, good moulding, ears on top. Good angulation, length of back, well-muscled. Moved the best within the class. Came very close to winning the CC on the day, but felt that the Puppy movement was a little more fluid. Wasn’t surprised to learn that she has won her title.

Real classic collie with a well-balanced head, small neat ears, nice dark eye. In excellent condition, balanced shape with good angulation.
