A relatively small entry, but I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of my exhibits
Veteran dog, 3. 1st Mr A and Mrs C Scott. Chantique Star Dust 9 yrs. old sable, he belies his age, super head pattern, lovely muzzle and foreface, correct eye shape and placement, he used his well-placed ears giving him such a masculine expression. He has a good arched neck into strong fore quarters, he is soundly constructed with nice boning, his coat presentation was excellent, and he was good on the eye when he moved, along with my co judge we made him best veteran in breed, i was really pleased to see him go best veteran in show later in the day.

Puppy dog, 1, 1st Mrs MA Lockyer, Salsina`s Red Hot Crush with Gataj, Although standing alone this 10 month sable is an extremely promising youngster and has a an exciting future ahead of him, he has a balanced head, clean stop dark almond eyes, correctly placed ears which he used continuously , he has a reach of neck into good shoulders, already a good body shape, nice boning for one so young, his coat presentation was good, and his movement was strong and pleasing to the eye. He went on to be awarded best puppy in breed and later best puppy in show
Junior Dog 4 1A, 1st Mrs C Turner, Paulara Blaze of Glory, 13 months old a fabulous youngster so mature for his age, super head pattern, clean stop, lovely eye shape, well filled muzzle, arched neck, with depth of chest, good length of back with correct tail set, he is well off for bone and has neat feet. His sable coat was well presented, his sound construction allowed him to move with ease, an exhibit bound for top honours in my opinion.
2nd, Mr H and Mrs A Toogood, Hanvale Ralph Lauren, unlucky to meet 1, as he is of similar age with so much to like about him, as he carries so many of the attributes of 1, he is a flashy youngster with a lovely white shawl which accentuates his neck, his coat was well presented and he did everything his owner asked of him both showing and moving. I just preferred the head and maturity of 1
3rd, Mr ND and Mrs C Collins, Triburle the Joker
Special Yearling, 4 1A, 1st Mrs PM and Misses EJ and JL Brooker, Starlenga All about Majic for Corisian, a stand out winner so masculine with a touch of glamour, i loved his head pattern, nice rounded muzzle, clean stop, lovely v dark eyes, ears which he used non stop, so at tentative to his owner, yet another exhibit with a lovely white mane showing his arch of neck, good strong front with a depth of chest, nice level top line, tail carried correctly, he has a lovely rich sable colouring, ample bone, i never cease to be amazed at the meticulous presentation from this young lady of her collies, the lad moved around the ring presenting a lovely picture, i see an exciting future for this one.
2nd, Mrs C Waterhouse, Lynmead Royal Lover, I really liked this 2 yrs. old sable, good length head so balanced, well rounded muzzle correct stop, the sweetest of eyes, when he lifts his ears he has a fabulous expression, he has a good body shape strong neck with deep chest, correct fitted coat, good boning both fore and aft, not as sound on the move as 1, i just felt he would have been happier outside as today he didn’t give his all.

Graduate Dog , 4 1a, 1st Mr DG Mrs MM and Mrs M Mitchell, Mitchell and Jordan, Avonfair Aloysius Soundly constructed sable, strong neck good spring of rib, good length of back, he has nice boning, he carries pleasing head qualities with nicely placed eyes, with neat ears, his coat was well presented and he moved well

Mid Limit Dog 5 entries. 1st Mr ND and Mrs C Collins. Triburle BlueBolerol, for me the star of the show, a blue merle of beautiful colouring, a correct fitted coat of good texture the perfect white shawl showing his reach of neck,, 2.5 years old, in fabulous condition, head of good length with well moulded foreface and level back Skull, correctly positioned stop with lovely dark almond eyes, perfect ear placement which he used to give that inquisitive expression, he has correct lay of shoulder, has a good depth of chest with a spring of rib, excellent length of back, he held his top line on the move, his tail length and set is good, he has muscled thighs, well boned legs with neat feet, and perfect turn of stifle with short hocks, all in all he made a fabulous picture as he moved around the ring, with effortless ease and showed drive and purpose. I was pleased to award him Dog CC, later with my co judge Geoff Duffield we agreed he was best of breed, and the icing on his cake was he went on to Best in Show, congratulations a special day for the owners, well done.
2nd Mrs C Waterhouse, Lynmead Famous Lover, a Quality sable exhibit, from this kennel, his head handled well so balanced with a lovely rounded muzzle, correct stop, with perfect dark almond eyes, ears which he used non-stop, good length neck which again was enhanced by his white collar, he has a pleasing body shape, well boned both front and rear with excellent turn of stifle, his coat presentation was excellent and he was positive on the move
3rd, Mrs V Cronk Chelborn`s Gambling List
Limit Dog 2, 1st Mrs MA lockyer Gataj Turn back time JW. Just 2 yrs old Top youngster, bound for top honours, nice length head rounded muzzle, correct stop, neat well used ears, dark eye of good shape, he has a good reach of neck, pleasing body shape, ample boning with well boned legs and neat feet, he has a good tail set carried correctly, his fitting coat was nicely presented, movement was good
2nd, Mrs J Hogg, Brookynut Storm`s legacy, placed 3rd in veteran a rich coloured sable, well proportioned, he has ample body, and has a well fitted coat, head of good length, he could have shown a little more drive on the move
Open Dog, 5, A lovely class of 5 quality males, which was a pleasure to assess 1st, Mr B Hawkins and Mrs O Foy, Beldones Rocket Man, a 3.5 yr old sable He possesses the cleanest of heads which has to be handled to be appreciated not an ounce of coarsness, lovely muzzle with good underjaw, strong arched neck, deep chest, a nice spring of rib, excellent length of back, with correct tail set, excellent boning with neat feet,, well muscled thighs lovely turn of stifle with short well boned hocks, his presentation was spot on and he moved with drive. It pleased me to award him the RCC
2nd, Mr R Blakie, Ch Kourika You`ll Do For Me, Well known and worthy champion, his jet black fitting coat was presented to perfection, absolutely black down to the roots, a real credit to the owner. Pleasing balanced head pattern, used his ears non stop, lovely dark eye giving the desired expression, super body shape, with lovely boning and perfectly manicured feet, his movement was sound and presented a pleasing picture, he pushed 1 hard,
3rd Mr A and Mrs c Scott Sherlock Holmes of Moon River for Chantique, Top quality tri colour, i loved his head pattern with the most beautiful eye both in shape and position, he used his ears non stop giving a fabulous expression, he had so many qualities exhibited by 1 and 2, as with 2 his jet black coat had been meticulously groomed and serves as an object lesson to aspiring newcomers on presentation he moved as 1 with his owner
